Turkish second-tier side Yeni Malatyaspor have confirmed that football goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Terkaslan has died at the age of 28 in a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
Turkey and Syria were both hit by a devastating earthquake on Sunday night. With all nearby areas flat as a drum face while many families are still trapped in the ruins.
Turkaslan was reported missing on Monday. And most recently, the club has mourned their goalkeeper after his death was confirm on Tuesday.
“Our goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan died after the earthquake. Rest in peace.”
“We will never forget you.”
The natural disaster has wreaked havoc across Turkey and Syria. Killing at least 5,100 people and injuring thousands more. And now it has affect one of Turkey’s top clubs as well.

Yeni Malatyaspor goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan has confirmed as one of the victims of the earthquake. That hit Kahramanmaras last Sunday night.
As for Turkaslan, he has make two appearances in the Turkish Cup this season and is yet to play in the league.
Another famous footballer Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu was also among the victims. To be trap under the rubble of a collaps building. But rescuers found him alive despite having injury his right foot and chest tightness. But now he has sent to the hospital for treatment.
